Resident Evil

Two videos have been released promoting the upcoming horror title Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.

Capcom has started a new campaign, releasing very brief video “Volumes” to hype up the newest Resident Evil game, Biohazard. There appear to be 10 volumes in the set, all leading up to the game’s release on January 24th. The first two videos are each approximately 30 seconds, and work to solidify the tone. Volume 1, “Mysterious Caller,” is definitely set in Creepytown, USA, with an old phone ringing in various locations. If I were there, I wouldn’t pick it up.

Volume 2, “Shotgun in the Box,” features, unsurprisingly, a shotgun in a box. This is shown through gameplay, so—while less scary—we get to observe Resident Evil 7‘s inventory system. Even as brief and simple as it is, the sound design in this clip is still unnerving. What’s making that noise?!

Check out the videos above, and get ready, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard comes out January 24th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Resident Evil 7 gives us goosebumps with new teasers

Leave it to Resident Evil 7 to make mundane objects more terrifying than a horde of zombies.
