Resident Evil 7 may have had an edge with the PlayStation 4 due to its PlayStation VR support, but Xbox is firing back with the announcement of Xbox Play Anywhere support for the survival game.
Resident Evil 7‘s Play Anywhere compatibility was recently announced on Twitter by Xbox’s Phil Spencer.

As Spencer describes, the Play Anywhere program allows supported titles to be purchased on either Xbox One or Windows 10 PC and also be playable on the alternate system. Any data saved from a supported game on one system will also be transferrable to the other.
In other Resident Evil 7 news, the game’s trophy list was recently leaked, but it doesn’t seem to contain the spoilers that fans would expect.
Resident Evil 7 is launching January 24th on Xbox One, PC, and on PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR support.
