Resident Evil HD Remaster screenshots compare the old with the new

Posted on August 28, 2014 AT 04:15am

Capcom has released a new batch of screenshots for its upcoming HD remaster of the original Resident Evil that compare the GameCube release with the upcoming HD re-release.

The screenshots below (with the exception of the final three) show before and after comparisons between the 2002 GameCube re-release of the original Resident Evil and the upcoming 2015 release. You can also head over to Capcom Unity to compare the images using a nifty little slider tool if you wish to.

Resident Evil‘s HD remaster features upgraded resolutions and textures, and support for 1080p on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Players will also have the option of either playing in the original 4:3 ratio or a new updated 16:9 widescreen mode. Two control schemes are also available: ”The classic control scheme remains for fans of the original play style or there’s an alternative scheme where the character moves directly in the direction of the analogue stick, utilizing the standards of the current generation of gaming. Both the control scheme and the display options can be toggled between at any time during gameplay.”

Resident Evil HD is set to launch in early 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
