THE BUZZ: Capcom has revealed plans to launch a beta for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City early next year.

Mike Jones, Producer on Operation Raccoon City, made the announcement at the publishers Gamer’s Day 2011 event but didn’t offer any more details. The game allows a team of four players to work their way through Raccoon City, playing as the Umbrella Security Service trying to eradicate the zombie threat.

EGM’s TAKE: The game will rely heavily on its online component for success, so a multiplayer beta makes perfect sense.

Are you looking forward to the beta? Leave a comment below.
