THE BUZZ: When Capcom announced Resident Evil: Revelations, they revealed that the game would come with a $49.99 price tag due blaming the cart size increase from the standard 2GB to 4GB. Since then, Capcom has admitted to spending time trying to find ways to lower the cost of the newest entry in their flagship franchise. Well, the effort seems to have paid off. Come Feburary 7, Resident Evil: Revelations will be released for $39.99. No details were given on exactly how Capcom managed to lower cost.
EGM’s TAKE: We’re so very curious about the cost cutting measures Capcom took that allowed them to drop the price of a game a full $10. Can they do this for every game they release? Did they cut content out at the last minute? So many questions, and so few answers. If you’ve preordered the game already, your game store should reflect the new price by now, and if it doesn’t you may want give them a buzz. Resident Evil: Revelations is reviewing particually well, so combine that with a new low price and Capcom seems to have yet another hit on its hands.
