Capcom have released a new developer diary for Resident Evil: Revelations in which the game designers discuss the series’ heritage and the new game’s return to its horror roots.
“From the beginning of the project, our goal was to return to our horror roots, ” art director Satoshi Takamatsu says in the video. “The game will inevitably be compared to the older games, which players found scary. But we didn’t just use the old games as a template to copy. Instead, we looked t the horror experience those games provided and tried to re-create that feeling.”
Resident Evil: Revelations debuted on 3DS February 7, 2012. The HD PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U port launches May 21 in North America, May 23 in Japan and Australia, and May 24 in Europe.
