Titanfall

Update: Respawn Entertainment issued a correction over Twitter, clarifying that there will be no online pass for Titanfall (which makes sense, since the whole game is multiplayer and online) and that they have no details to announce regarding a season pass at this time.

Original Story: Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that Titanfall will not have a season pass when it launches next month.

Several major releases have opted for the season pass model, which sees players pay up front for all of a game’s downloadable content at a discounted price, over the last few years.

The developer has previously confirmed that Titanfall will contain no microtransactions, but has stayed quiet on the possibility of a season pass until now. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen has previously stated that post-launch content for the game is already in the planning stages.

“We’re planning extra content already for the product,” he said during the publisher’s Q3 FY14 briefing last month, “but in the nature of the live service, I think that, that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year.”

Titanfall is set to release March 11 in North America and March 13 in Europe (March 14 in the U.K.) for Xbox One and PC. An Xbox 360 release will follow two weeks later.
