We’ve been waiting a long time to hear news of Respawn Entertainment’s new Star Wars game, and now we finally have a few tidbits—including the name of the game.
Speaking during EA’s pre-E3 presentation, Respawn’s CEO Vince Zampella revealed that the game will be called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While the game is still a ways off—Zampella said that we should expect to see the game release around the 2019 holiday season—the title gives us a few clues.
As Zampella confirmed, the title does mean that we’ll be playing as a Jedi, and there will be lightsabers. The game will take place between Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, during the time when the Jedi Order is being hunted down and eradicated from the galaxy. Zampella stated repeatedly that it will be “a dark time” for the Jedi.
“It’s going to be spectacular,” Zampella concluded.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently being developed by Respawn Entertainment, with collaboration from Lucasfilm and EA.
