Nintendo has some major games set to release in 2019, and a retailer leak might have revealed their release dates ahead of schedule.
U.K.-based online retailer Base.com listed release dates for an Animal Crossing game, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Daemon X Machina, three upcoming Nintendo Switch games, on its website. While retailers often put up placeholder sales pages for games before they’re out, this one is a bit more specific, which has some fans wondering if the dates could be real.
Normally, if games have placeholder dates, retailers will list them as releasing at the end of the the month or end of the relevant financial quarter. These dates, however, are different. The Animal Crossing title is set for Friday, September 13th, Luigi’s Mansion 3 for Friday, July 19th, and Daemon X Machina for Friday, May 24th. Since Nintendo has a tendency to release its major games on Fridays, the day of the week is another point in the release dates’ favor.
However, these listings should still be taken with a huge grain of salt. The site still has Metroid Prime 4 listed with a 2019 release date, for example, despite Nintendo’s recent announcement that the game would be severely delayed. Clearly, not all of the information the retailer has to offer is up to date.
Whatever the case is, these games are all still set to release in 2019, so we likely won’t have to wait too long for Nintendo to announce the official release dates.
