Ridge Racer Unbounded

THE BUZZ: Namco has announced that Ridge Racer Unbounded has suffered a delay of almost a month.

The game was originally set to launch March 2 in Europe but has been pushed back until March 30. ”The development team felt they needed a little bit of extra time to optimise the game,” said the publisher in a statement.

The North American release date of March 6 appears to remain unchanged at this time.

EGM’s TAKE: Bugbear has taken the Ridge Racer series in a similar direction as the Burnout franchise with Unbounded – destruction is everything in the newest title. The game looks fantastic and still manages to hold onto that arcade-style of previous Ridge Racers while adding a fresh outlook – in terms of destruction – for the franchise. While a delay is always bad news, four weeks doesn’t signal the end of the world.
