Details are slowly trickling in for RIFT’s 3.0 patch, otherwise known as the game’s second expansion. We already know that it will include improved companions, new souls, and better item advancement, but now a few more details have surfaced.
RIFT Junkies translated a video interview between buffed.de and Trion Senior Design Director Simon Ffinch, in which he confirmed that patch 3.0 will increase the game’s level cap by five levels to 65. He also revealed that the team is working on adding PvP Dimensions with the expansion, but couldn’t promise that they will be ready in time. These new Dimensions will allow players to customize make-shift arenas for PvP deathmatches.
Ffinch also added that the expansion will only be offered digitally and will be free to download for all, but players will need to pay to use the additional souls–similar to how Storm Legion works now.
