RIFT has managed to top Raptr’s most-played chart for May beating out League of Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and World of Warcraft. However, there is a reason for this sudden surge up the charts.

Raptr is currently running a promotion with Trion Worlds which allows players to get a free copy of RIFT, its Storm Legion expansion, and 30 days of subscription time for spending a certain number of hours playing RIFT Lite, the game’s free-to-play trial.

This promotion coupled with the game’s move to free-to-play next week has led to a major increase in the number of active players raising its Raptr game time share to 7.76 percent.

For those that are unaware, Raptr is a social network gaming website which allows fans of all kinds of games to join communities, track statistics, and earn rewards.
