Rising Star Bringing Under Defeat HD To North American PS3 Owners

Furthering their push to bring their publishing efforts to North America, UK publisher Rising Star Games has announced that they’ll be bringing a deluxe edition of the Japanese PS3 shooter Under Defeat HD to our shores.
Developed by the team at G.rev, the game has an interesting history: After hitting Japanese arcades in 2005, Under Defeat came out as a post-death release for Sega’s final console, the Dreamcast. Six years later, here it now is, updated and expanded for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Why we’re only getting the PS3 version I’m not too certain, especially given the company’s first US release was the Xbox 360 version of Akai Katana. Still, I won’t complain—something is always better than nothing.
For the Deluxe Edition of Under Defeat HD, the folks at Rising Star Games are packing in all current DLC and patches, a digital art book, a soundtrack CD, and a slightly unusual final bonus: A letter from G.rev CEO and Under Defeat executive producer Hiroyuki Maruyama. Suitable for framing, I am expecting!
Under Defeat HD: Deluxe Edition will hit both as a physical release and as a digital download via PSN this fall for $39.99.
