Robot Unicorn Attack Gets Pixelated with Retro Unicorn Attack

Posted on April 14, 2013 AT 11:21am

Adult Swim’s Robot Unicorn Attack—easily my favorite iOS game/web game—has gotten an old-school reimagining with Retro Unicorn Attack: Challenge Edition.

Both Robot and Retro Unicorn Attack are endless runners in which the player assumes control of, well, a unicorn, in an endlessly side-scrolling platformer set to the brain-hijackingly catchy tune “Always” by Erasure (which for my own amusement, I have embedded the video to below). Retro Unicorn Attack features a MIDI’d out version of Erasure’s “Always.” And it’s delightful.

You can get your old-school, pixelated pony jam on at Adult Swim Games. Hopefully, Retro Unicorn Attack will get an iOS release like its robotic cousin.
