Rockstar has dismissed several “conspiracy theories” surrounding the recent delay of Grand Theft Auto V to September.

The developer failed to elaborate on which conspiracy theories it was referring to, but promised that the only reason for the delay was to ensure that the game meets fan’s expectations.

“To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense – literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be,” the developer said. “For those of you asking about the official box art, that will be coming out a bit later as well.”

Grand Theft Auto V is scheduled to release September 17 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
