Rogue Legacy is now available for Mac and Linux through Steam, developer Cellar Door Games announced on their official blog.
According to the post, Cellar Door intends to make Rogue Legacy available through other distributors beyond Steam “a little later.”
Rogue Legacy, described as a “rogue-lite” by the developers, blends platformer elements with elements of a roguelike (permadeath, randomized dungeons). It originally debuted on Windows PC this past summer, on June 27. During their Gamescom 2013 press conference, Sony announced that Rogue Legacy would be coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita sometime 2014.
The new patch also adds profile select functionality, allowing players to choose between three save games. It also fixes a considerable number of bugs, such as fixing an empty block where a chest should be, spelling mistakes, and performance issues surrounding dungeon shaders being applied to all areas. The full patch notes list can be found on Cellar Door Games’ blog.
