Speaking with Nikkei Trendy, Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino confirmed his studio is working on a PS4 game.

According to Hino, the project is still in the planning stages, though the he did tease the possibility of a formal reveal or announcement in the near future.

Level-5’s most recent game, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, was released on pS3 in January, largely to critical acclaim. Our own managing editor Andrew Fitch reviewed it quite favorably.

Hino did not mention continued collaboration with Studio Ghibli, so I think a sequel can be ruled out. Not that he said much at all. My money’s on an original IP—something fresh and new for Sony’s shiny new console.
