RUMOR: 343 Industries Working On Halo 2 Anniversary

Could the team behind the upcoming Halo 4 also be working on an updated re-release of the Xbox classic Halo 2?

In the rumors section of the latest issue of the UK’s Official Xbox Magazine, this most tantalizing rumor was printed:

“Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary.”

For now, that idea is nothing but rampant speculation, as not even a hinted source was given for where that info came from. However, it’s certainly a rumor that’s easy to believe. 343 worked on the campaign portion of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, and having a new Halo project such as this would keep the franchise on the yearly release schedule it has been on since 2009′s Halo 3: ODST.
