RUMOR: Bethesda Cancels Prey 2

THE BUZZ: Prey 2 developer Human Head has apparently shelved the game.

That’s according to Dutch site PSFocus, which says that it was given the information by “multiple reliable sources.” Bethesda has apparently cancelled several presentations of the game that were scheduled with the press at GDC earlier this month.

When asked about the cancellation Bethesda refused to comment.

EGM’s TAKE: The lack of comment on Bethesda’s part is worrying. Remember when the Doom 4 cancellation rumors began to spread the company was very quick to shut them down. The fact that they are not denying the rumors doesn’t bode well for Prey 2. Many fans and critics have been impressed by what they’ve seen of the game so far. So there’s no apparent reason they would cancel it. The only other explanation is that something has happened in development forcing a major delay.
