Skylanders

A rumor making the rounds on NeoGAF claims that early PlayStation icon Crash Bandicoot could be joining his friend Spyro in the popular toys-to-life series Skylanders as bonus content for the upcoming next installment, Skylanders Imaginators.

The NeoGAF post in question sources a Singapore-based retailer, Qisahn, which is offering a Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack that reportedly features “Crash Edition” content exclusive to the PlayStation 4. While the character of Crash Bandicoot originally started on the PlayStation 1, Skylanders publisher Activision currently owns the rights to the character.

It would be unfortunate if this were the full extent to which Crash is brought back onto the gaming scene, though, as the property has been dormant for several years, perhaps the fanbase will take decide that anything is ultimately better than nothing. Considering the Crash content would be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, perhaps fans will see the weird little dude onstage during Sony’s E3 press conference next week.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
