RUMOR: Crazy Battlefield 4 Rumors Hit Internet

By
Posted on November 6, 2012 AT 12:02pm

A few days ago, a batch of rumors were posted on Chinese message forum Chiphell which claim to give a variety of details for the next major chapter of DICE’s Battlefield series.

Supposedly, these details were leaked from EA China—and before you call that crazy, yes, there is actually a Chinese division of the company. Over on NeoGAF, moderator Nirolak got his friend “Lasagna”—as in, a person nicknamed that, not the actual food dish—to help provide a proper translation for what the Chinese forum post is claiming.

Obviously, take all of this with a grain of salt. There’s nothing totally crazy here, so it’s totally possible that all of these details are spot-on. Of course, it’s also possible that somebody decided to make up a realistic-sounding list of features and see who would believe it.

  • Coming on October 23rd, 2013
  • Released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and will be one of the first games released for “next-gen consoles”
  • Running on Frostbite 2.0 engine
  • Commander System returns, supports motion tracking and voice control
  • Improved Battlelog integration and stat-tracking
  • Your profile can be linked with other devices
  • Auto login, internet connection always required
  • Will support cloud saves
  • The game will supposedly be easier to pick up and play—supposedly for the benefit of “Call of Duty players”
  • Support for video recording / playback / sharing
  • Have “gem store for DLC and other such stuff”
  • Three factions: USA, Russia, China
  • Ability to create female soldiers
  • PC, next PlayStation, next Xbox versions will support 64-player maps
  • PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will support less players
  • PC, next PlayStation, next Xbox versions will run at 60fps
  • Demo video already being shown internally at EA
  • Battlefield 4 will use 80% of the power of the Frostbite 2.0 engine, where BF3 used 30%~40%

What do you think? If these features end up being real, do they make you excited for Battlefield 4?
