The recently trademarked Alien Isolation is a new FPS entry into the franchise which is in development at Total War studio The Creative Assembly, according to a new report.
A source familiar with Sega’s plans has informed Kotaku that the shooter will feature stealth and horror elements and is due to release in 2014 for current and next-gen consoles. The source also claims that the game will star Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley.
The game takes place on a single space station and only features one Xenomorph for the majority of the game. Players will be taking on “clones and soldiers” mainly, with occasional fights against the Xenomorph.
The source adds that Sega is taking Colonial Marines‘ failure “very seriously.” The publisher originally planned to announce Alien Isolation at E3 in June, but decided to push it back to ensure that Isolation is a better game than Gearbox’s entry.
