EA is yet to announce an official release date for Dead Space 3‘s first batch of DLC titled Awakening, however, the game’s official twitter account may have accidentally jumped the gun.

A tweet from the game’s official Twitter account read, “March 3! Do you think you’re ready for more Dead Space?” This tweet was later deleted. The question is, was the tweet deleted because it was wrong, or because it was announced too early? An EA representative has since told Joystiq that it has “not announced a specific release date in March for Dead Space 3 Awakened.”

March 3 would be a Sunday–which is a little odd for DLC–so it stands a chance that the wrong date was put out and that’s why it was deleted, but that could mean the DLC is set to release the following week. Awakened will be available on PC and PlayStation 3 for $9.99, and Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points. More details on this new content can be found here.
