THE BUZZ: A number of Italian retailers are claiming to have gotten an official Diablo III release date from Activision Blizzard. Could this finally be the long-awaited date?

EGM’s TAKE: From Italian gaming site MMORPG Italy comes a report that several large retailers in Italy are now claiming that April 17th will be the official release date for Diablo III.

In what could be a sign of confirmation for this story, both the Amazon Italy site and GameStop’s UK site list that exact same date as being the release date for the game.

Obviously, if April 17th were to be the European release date for Diablo III, the game would probably see release on the same day here in North America. That would, after all, be a Tuesday—the day of the week games are typically released on.
