This year’s Game Developers Conference will be running from March 25th until the 29th, and an invite from EA could potentially mean the reveal of the next chapter of one of their major franchises.
EA sent out invites to the press for an event happening on the night of the 26th, as a part of the festivities surrounding GDC 2013. Now, there’s absolutely no confirmation that the event will be for the reveal of the next Battlefield, but there are a few reasons to suspect that being the case:
- The rain-themed invite has a blue/orange color scheme very similar to what’s been used for official Battlefield-related artwork
- People such as EA’s chief financial officer and GameStop’s CEO have made recent comments about being wowed by how Battlefield 4 is turning out visually
- EA said during a recent earnings call that more about Battlefield 4 would be revealed “in about 90 days”—that call happened back at the end of January
So, you know—while there’s no concrete proof that Battlefield 4 will be the main topic of this event, I’d be more than a little confident about placing a bet on that being the case. However, we’ll know for sure in just over a week and a half.
What would you like to see from Battlefield 4, especially when it comes to next-gen consoles?
