NeoGaf’s ninja detectives have unearthed what could be the XBLA box art for the recently reported Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon expansion.

So, either Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a pretty damn clever April Fools’ joke, or it is a balls-to-the-walls homage to the big dumb fun 80s action movies many of us grew up watching.

Every inch of the box art (seen above) looks fake, but it could be fake in a this-is-meant-to-looking-cheesy-and-cheap-looking way, fake in the most literal sense (i.e. total bullshit), or half-assed intentionally as part of the aforementioned April Fools’ joke.

Honestly, reading the previously revealed cheevos for Blood Dragon, this seems to be in line. It also seems to be impossibly over-the-top. I am increasingly convinced that this is Ubisoft getting their April Fools’ ha-has.

Guess we’ll find out soon enough. If it is a prank, kudos to Ubisoft. It’s easy to just bust out artwork for a fake game. It takes a bit more trickery to disseminate phony achievements and artwork subtly, so that the Internet picks up the trail and runs with it.
