Microsoft is prepping a custom version of its Internet Explorer web browser for Xbox 360, according to a new report.

The Verge, who have managed to find themselves a pretty useful Microsoft mole, is reporting that the platform holder is set to bring full web browsing capabilities to the console. The browser will be designed for use with Kinect allowing for voice and motion control.

One thing the Xbox 360 has lacked since launch is the ability to browse the Internet. Both Sony and Nintendo have bestowed an Internet browser to their consoles, however Microsoft has been lagging behind. If you want to extend the life of your console then new features is the way to do it, so it really wouldn’t be surprising to see such a little – but highly requested – thing like this added.

Would you surf the web on your Xbox 360?
