Microsoft is readying its own version of Apple’s Siri for Windows Phones, PC, and Xbox One, according to a new report.
The software will be called Cortana, after Halo’s blue AI who aids Master Chief. The Cortana project first appeared back in June in images of an early Windows Phone build. It appears that the plan is to have it replace the current TellMe service.
Cortana will combine Bing’s search functionality with TellMe’s speech recognition tech and advanced social graph data. It’s expected to roll out with a new Windows Phone build in early 2014. After this the plan is to incorporate Cortana into future Windows PC and Xbox One builds.
