Microsoft is set to announce a new exclusivity deal with EA at its Next Xbox unveiling event, according to a new report.

CVG claims it has been informed by two sources that Microsoft will announce a key exclusivity deal with EA at the event, but the sources couldn’t confirm whether EA would actually be at the event or what the terms of the deal will be. It’s unlikely that Microsoft has managed to secure exclusive rights to EA games, so expect it to be more along the lines of exclusive content and early DLC releases–maybe even timed exclusivity on game releases.

Considering that earlier today EA’s chief financial officer all but confirmed that Battlefield 4 is coming to the PS4 I expect that this deal will be in regards to DLC similar to the one between EA and Sony now for Battlefield 3. One of CVG’s sources claims that the deal will be for Battlefield 4, whereas the other suspects that Respawn Entertainment will make an appearance.

Battlefield 4 needs a big stage and considering that EA missed the PS4 reveal I would expect to see the game make an appearance at Microsoft’s event.
