Are you happy with the current Xbox 360 controller layout? If yes, good because it appears as if Microsoft isn’t going to change it very much for the Next Xbox, according to a new report.

Unnamed sources have told Kotaku that prototype versions of the Next Xbox controller, which are currently with developers, are nearly identical to the Xbox 360 controller.

According to the source, the only noticeable difference is that the Next Xbox controller is a little smaller than its Xbox 360 counterpart. The new controller features the same twin-analogue setup, same button layout, and still has the Xbox Home button in the center.

Kotaku also reports that Microsoft has covered all Next Xbox prototypes in black and white striped patterns, presumably to deter testers from leaking images.

Microsoft is expected to announce its next generation console at a special event later this month.
