Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is coming to Android devices next month, Polygon reports.
According to Polygon, whose news comes by way of a source close to EA operations, Plants vs. Zombies 2 will land on Android devices sometime October, but no concrete release date has been set. EA and PopCap’s free-to-play tower defense title is currently only available on iOS devices (except in China, where it launched for Android users on September 12).
Plants vs. Zombies 2 revolves around Crazy Dave’s desire to consume the exact same taco he eats at the beginning of the game all over again. To this end, he builds a sentient time machine/RV named Penny to travel to Ancient Egypt, Pirate Seas, and Wild West eras. A “Far Future” level, teased in-game after completion of the Wild West stage, will be added to the game in a later update.
By the end of August, PopCap announced that Plants vs. Zombies 2 had reached “nearly” 25 million downloads—a number and achievement they’ve no doubt broken nearly a month later.
According to Ray’s review, Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time “maintains the addictive tower-defense gameplay and cheesy humor that made the first Plants vs. Zombies such a phenomenon, while adding a plethora of new features that ensure this game will consume every free second you have—if you let it.”
