Bitmob.com recently received an anonymous tip that the PS4 is coming in 18 months. The tip itself supposedly came from a person who attended a “high-Level” meeting at Sony’s headquarters.

When asked, Sony said, “We don’t comment on rumors or speculation.” 18 months from now would put the release date around April 2013, so expect news by then.

What do you think the PS4 will have? Blu-ray and 3D are a given. I’m hoping for full backwards compatibility with the PS3, and the promised compatibility with the PS2. Steam might also be upgraded on the PS4 to allow Sony to sell games on the PS4; I mean, if games on Steam were $45 each, people would be saving money if it was $60 everywhere else. Smart Sony is smart.
