Sony has always been one for over the top adverts for its consoles, especially ones that seem to have little to do with the actual console its advertising. So it’s no surprise to hear about this apparent PlayStation 4 commercial which once again goes over the top.
Siliconera has managed to obtain a leaked script from the company that is working on a marketing campaign for PlayStation 4. According to the site, this time the marketing slogan will be “Greatness Awaits.” The commercial opens with an empty road in a small town with one man standing on it. He begins to walk towards the camera and says, ”Who are you not to be great? You, with the imagination of a brilliant child and the powers of an ancient god.
“Who are you to be ordinary? You, who could get away with murder, or raise the dead…
“Who are you to be anonymous? You, whose name should be spoken in reverent tones or in terrified whispers.
“Who are you to be afraid? You, who can serve as judge and jury while hoarding infinite lives.
“Who are you to be a slave to the past? You who can travel time like the oceans and rewrite history with a single word.”
The man continues to walk towards the camera as noise, explosions, and chaos surrounds him, he raises his voice to be heard, and says, ”Who are you to deny greatness? If you would deny it to yourself, you deny it to the entire world.”
Now I don’t know about you, but this sounds exactly like a PlayStation advert to me. If this turns out to be real then I would put money on this being the first thing that is shown at Sony’s E3 press conference on June 10. Just imagine it, the room goes quite as the lights dim and then we see this man walking along his empty road on the giant screen. Queue crazy applause and whooping as the screen fades to black.
