Sony is set to bundle a next generation PlayStation Eye device with every PlayStation 4, according to a new report.
According to VGLeaks, the device is being referred to as “Dual Camera” and is said to contain a pair of wide-angle cameras, each offering a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device’s sound will be processed by a four microphone arrays working at 48 Khz.
The site adds that the device will be compatible with PlayStation Move and supports head and hand tracking–it’s unclear if the device will support body tracking in the future. On the non-gaming side, the Dual Camera will support video chat and has the ability to recognize users and automatically sign them in to their account.
Sony is expected to reveal the PlayStation 4 at an event on February 20.
