THE BUZZ: Recent rumors have hinted at Syphon Filter 4 being developed for the PlayStation 3, but that may not be the only upcoming Syphon Filter title fans will be able to look forward to in 2012.

In their November 2011 issue, PlayStation: The Official Magazine UK gives hints at another future title—a version of Syphon Filter for the PS Vita developed by SCE Bend.

From the issue:

SCE Bend is currently hard at work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but its hush-hush Vita project is a return to Syphon Filter.

EGM’s TAKE: If true, the project wouldn’t be at all surprising—Syphon Filter is a popular Sony franchise, and SCE Bend has been responsible for the last four iterations of the series.

Bend’s work on Uncharted: Golden Abyss is looking stellar so far, so the team would no doubt also be able to do great things for Syphon Filter on that hardware. As well, if Syphon Filter 4 is indeed in the works, it would only make sense for the two games to feature some sort of connectivity.
