RUMOR: Voice Actor Leaks Lines From Next Year’s Call of Duty Game
Posted on November 14, 2012 AT 03:37pm
Okay, take these with a huge grain of salt—but supposedly a voice actor working on the Call of Duty game set for release in 2013 has leaked some of the game’s lines.
These come from Siliconera, who were supposedly passed text versions of these lines by “Ben Burke” (a codename to keep the person’s identity safe). Burke claims to have taken part in voiceover recording being done in the Los Angeles area for this Call of Duty title—but that doesn’t mean that these lines are necessarily being read by Burke.
Burke claims this game will be part of the Modern Warfare storyline, and will feature a main character who is “a battle hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view”. As well, John “Soap” MacTavish is said to be part of the story.
Here are the lines that Burke sent to Siliconera:
“Reminds you of Phuket, doesn’t it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer… OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves.”
“This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?”
“We’ve got KVA on the move! They’re going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We’re providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let’s move!”
“Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!”
More about this and the source of these lines can be read at the link below. Now, again, absolutely no proof to the validity of any of this, so for now it’s all just fun speculation. So, let’s speculate! If those details, and these lines, were indeed for real, what do you think of the next Call of Duty game being based around such ideas, and being a new chapter of the Modern Warfare saga?
Let us know what you think below!
