Whore of the Orient, the next game from the team behind L.A. Noire looks to be in jeopardy following multiple reports of the team being laid off.

MCV Pacific states that Kennedy Mitchell Miller has laid off the whole division–KMM took on the remnants of L.A. Noire developer Team Bondi back in 2011. When questioned about the layoffs partner Doug Mitchell simply stated that it is still “actively pursuing the right investor to partner with” on Whore of the Orient.

Online source of knowledge supereroregatory managed to dig up an old deleted blog post from the partner of a KMM staff member, which indicated that Warner Bros pulled its support for the game back in December 2012, and that any new deal for the game “would come too late.”

So the game’s fate is currently up in the air. Whore of the Orient was expected to release in 2015.
