THE BUZZ: The title of a new Saints Row game has apparently been revealed thanks to the eagle eyes of an astute user over on the Se7enSins forum. Additionally, EGM has dug up some information on the game itself as well as the artwork that may be used for the game’s release.
WHAT WE KNOW: At this point, not much more than was posted at Se7enSins, but a synopsis for the game spells out the direction that the new title apparently plans to take:
“You are Cypher, a deadly assassin in the world of Saints Row, and you hunt the most elusive targets with the most sophisticated weaponry that Ultor has to offer. How sophisticated? You have the ability to control the of your bullet to such a degree that you can weave through the hallway of an apartment complex, steer through the legs of a hooker, and even snake your way through a moving train! Avoid striking solid objects and unintended bystanders and make sure you hit your mark!”
EGM’s TAKE: This sounds like it could be the XBLA and PSN Saints Row title that THQ claimed was cancelled a few months ago, or maybe it is something new entirely? According to the forum poster the title will cost 800 Microsoft Points. We’ve got a call into the marketing mavens across the street from EGM Central Command in Agoura Hills, CA and will update when we know more.
Tell us what you think of Saints Row in our comments section below.
UPDATE: EGM spoke with the THQ suits who remained mostly mum about the title, but did confirm that Saints Row: Money Shot is a real title that will get a real release on XBLA. No word on whether the company had a change of heart regarding the previously announced cancellation of an XBLA Saints Row release or whether this is something different entirely, but Team EGM’s money is on a pulmonary alteration rather than a new title appearing from out of nowhere.
