Rune Factory developer Neverland has announced that it has ceased operations and plans to file for bankruptcy shortly.
Over on its official website, the developer claimed that “changes in the business environment” had caused it financial situation to “deteriorate considerably,” leading to this decision. The developer was working on Rune Factory 5–the fate of which is now unknown.
Four numbered entries in the Rune Factory series have released across the DS and 3DS to date, and two console entries–Rune Factory Frontier (Wii) and Rune Factory: Oceans (PS3 and Wii)–have also been released.
