In a new video for Ryse: Son of Rome, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb” highlights all that is available to players in the game’s SmartGlass companion content.
By accessing the Xbox One SmartGlass app, available on any iOS, Android, or Windows smartphone or tablet, Ryse players can check out general game statistics such as how many times friends have launched the title, what they’ve unlocked in the game, and what multiplayer maps they’re most keen on. Ryse’s SmartGlass content also includes a timeline that tracks campaign progress and offers info based upon where the player’s at along with videos that help them find collectibles.
Content unlocked by these collectibles is also viewable through SmartGlass, such ass concept art, music, in-game cutscenes, and comic book pages. Additionally, a behind-the-scenes “Inspiration Behind Ryse” companion book is available exclusively through SmartGlass.
Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title developed by Crytek. For more on the ancient Rome–centric hack-n-slash title, check out Marc’s review.
