Keen Games’ action-RPG Sacred 3  will arrive ahead of schedule on, on August 5, publisher Deep Silver announced today.

Sacred 3 was originally set to launch across PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC on August 24. Deep Silvier offered no explanation behind the bump forward, but in light of a few delay announcements today, it’s at least—conceptually—a nice change of pace. And for fans of the Sacred series, I’m sure, a treat.

With Sacred 3, Keen Games—the studio behind Mr. Nutz Hoppin’ Mad and the handheld versions of the G-Force videogame (that’s the 2009 Disney G-Force flick starring guinea pigs, not the English name of the Japanese Gatchaman anime)—takes over development responsibilities from original Ascaron, who shut down in 2009.

Deep Silver also announced Sacred 3’s obligatory pre-order bonuses, which include a new playable character named Malakhim, the Underworld Story mission pack, and the Z4ngr13f Weapon Spirit if ordered through GameStop. Weapon Spirits (seen in the trailer above), according to the press release, are a new feature being introduced in Sacred 3. They allow players to customize and upgrade weapons, equipping them with various buffs and debuffs. Through Weapon Spirits, characters from previous Sacred games might also make cameos.
