The next installment of Tecmo Koei and Omega Force’s other hack-n-slash series, Samurai Warriors, may see a western release in 2014, producer Hisashi Koinuma suggested on Twitter last week.
In response to a fan question about getting Samurai Warriors 4 released in the west, Koinuma responded: “Yes. Perhaps, next summer.”
Samurai Warriors 4—Sengoku Muso 4 in Japan—was officially announced for PS3 and Vita in September during the SCEJA Press Conference. It’s slated for a March 20, 2014 release in Japan. Koinuma has gone on record saying that the team at Omega Force is putting a stronger emphasis on story mode and Japanese history with the new game.
The latest in Tecmo Koei’s more known hack-n-slash franchise, Dynasty Warriors 8, came to PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America July 16. Vita and PS4 versions are expected spring 2014.
On the topic of Warriors games and Tecmo Koei, Nintendo also recently announced that they’re collaborating with House That Built Dynasty Warriors on a Zelda-themed hack-n-slash game tentatively titled Hyrule Warriors.
