Marvel and Activision are giving Deadpool his own video game, complete with all the wanton violence that you comic book fans likely expect from The Merc With The Mouth. So far, a trailer and several images have been posted at the game’s official website, but no release date or planned consoles.
Convention attendees at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 first caught wind of the game when a large billboard for The Amazing Spider-Man video game was defaced with a huge splotch of Deadpool-esque graffiti, complete with a URL directing people to the game’s website.
According to the trailer, High Moon Studios will be handling the development, and SDCC buzz says that Nolan North will be reprising his role as the game’s titular character.
Keep in mind, this isn’t the first time Deadpool’s had a starring role in a Marvel game, as he’s been featured in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Fans of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions might also remember that the trigger-happy nutcase had an entire level devoted to him, complete with a boss battle.
Although the trailer (hosted on Marvel’s YouTube account) is current set to private viewing only, this stuff never stays private for long. Courtesy of League Of Comic Geeks, you can watch Deadpool break the fourth wall right over here.
