SDCC 2012: Even BioWare Is Struggling With Mass Effect 3′s New Difficulty Level

This week’s free Mass Effect 3 multiplayer DLC, titled Earth, adds a new level of difficulty to the game, Platinum, which is so tough that even the developers are having a hard time beating it.

“Platinum is so hard that only a handful of people at the office itself have ever beat it,” BioWare’s Mike Gamble told Gamespot at San Diego Comic Con. “We know that the players have been getting better and better since we launched.” According to Gamble, Platinum mode will even send both banshees and phantoms at you together, which is something so terrifying that I can’t even bring myself to think about it.

So if you’re looking for a challenge, be sure to download the free Earth DLC this week.

Do you think that Mass Effect 3 needs a tougher challenge? Let us know in the comments below.
