The second installment of Sony and developer Quantic Dream’s Making Of series for Beyond: Two Souls explores the development of the game’s unique UI.
In the video (embedded, as always, below), writer/director David Cage and other members of the Quantic Dream team discuss how they tried to create a user interface system that tonally matched Cage’s script for Beyond.
“What we tried to do in Beyond is really an intuitive and immersive experience,” lead gameplay designer Caroline Marchal says in the video. “So we created a very disparate user interface with only white dots on screen and very simple controls.”
Beyond: Two Souls launches exclusively on PlayStation 3 October 8 in North America, October 11 in Europe.
