Tor Books have announced that the second Dead Space novel, Dead Space: Catalyst will be out on October 2.
Written by B.K. Evenson — who also wrote the first one, 2010’s Dead Space: Martyr — Catalyst is set three hundred years from now, and has scientists screwing around with the Black Marker that was found on Earth. Which, as anyone who’s played any of the Dead Space games will tell you, can only result in happy fun times for all involved.
Along with his Dead Space books, B.K. Evenson also wrote Aliens: No Exit, inspired by the sci-fi films, and the story “Pariah” in the collection Halo: Evolutions: Essential Tales Of The Halo Universe. Though he’s best known as Brian Evenson, the writer of such acclaimed horror novels as Last Days, The Open Curtain, and the just-published Immobility.
The paperback edition of Dead Space: Catalyst will retail for $14.99 while the digital versions will be $9.99.
