A new video of Kingdom Hearts III shown during the first ever D23 Expo in Japan this weekend offers a short tease of the franchise’s familiar combat as well as new additions and locales.

Based on the video (embedded below), the third proper and final entry in the “Dark Seeker” saga seems to be drawing inspiration from attractions at Disney theme parks, namely the intensely lit train that resembles a cross between the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride and floats from the Main Street Electrical Parade (seen in the second half of the video, which also features the Rock Titan from Hercules). There’s also a shot about 30 seconds in which Sora’s Keyblade seems to transform into a pair of handheld projectile weapons (read: guns).

Square Enix confirmed Kingdom Hearts III‘s development at E3 2013 alongside a brief teaser video. The game will grace both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix has yet to reveal a release window for the title, but as producer Shinji Hashimoto reminded IGN in September, creative director Tetsuya Nomura is juggling both Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV (formerly Final Fantasy Versus XIII), with Final Fantasy taking priority, so expect Kingdom Hearts III’s launch to come a ways away.
