THE BUZZ: Sega has announced Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed the sequel to 2010′s Sonic and All-Stars Racing.
The game is set to release for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita later this year.

A new Mario Kart style transformation feature has been added to the game that allows your car to transform into either a plane or a boat mid-race.
Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is being developed by OutRun and Sumo Digital.

EGM’s TAKE: The first game enjoyed average sales and we expect this sequel to perform about the same. The on the fly car changes are a nice addition, but it’s nothing new. If you’re a Sega fan looking for some multiplayer fun, then you should keep an eye on this. However, we expect most people to just brush it off to the side.
