Sega Reveals ‘Sonic Jump’ For Mobile Platforms, But Not Much Else
Posted on October 5, 2012 AT 02:55pm
Hey, anyone remember Sonic Jump? Sega still does, and they’re apparently bringing one of their older mobile games out of retirement for a modern refit on iOS and Android.
At least, that’s what we’re assuming, as the official announcement post doesn’t say much else.
Whatever this “new” Sonic Jump happen to be, it’ll most assuredly play along the same lines as the platformer game from 2005 that featured Doodle Jump-like mechanics, challenging player to reach the top of each level without falling prey to various traps and disappearing types of ledges.
(Yes, the newer game is being used to describe the older one—wacky stuff, right?)
Curiously, this isn’t being called Sonic Jump 3, although it’s the third game in the mostly-unknown series.
Check out some footage of the game in the trailer below to see a potential guideline for what your iPhone, iPad, or Android device might be downloading (for a price, most likely) before the year’s out.
