Dishonored

A series of tweets from the HR manager of Dishonored developer Arkane Studios indicate that the company’s next project will be powered by CryEngine instead of Unreal Engine 3 or 4.

Late last month, HR manager for Arkane Studios and Battlecry Studios Ashley Pierce tweeted that both companies were developing on CryEngine and were hiring for positions related to “gameplay, graphics, platform, server, web engineers.” That same day, Pierce also tweeted that Arkane was “looking for a strong Tech Artist to join our Austin team. Develop tech guidelines, dive deep in @cryengine!”

When asked by another Twitter user if “Arkane is using Cryengine” Pierce reiterated that “here in Austin we are!”

Both Arkane Studios and Battlecry Studios are located in Austin, Texas, and are subsidiaries of ZeniMax Media, owner of id Software and Bethesda Game Studios.

Arkane’s most recent project, Dishonored, was built using the Unreal Engine.
